- Hey Bennett! Are you ready to read for me again and see what all you have learned since we last worked together?
- I met with Bennett, who I have worked with in the class at Sunshine Corner where I once was his teacher, and where we met before to work on some literacy skills. He read for me while I did an informal assessment and wrote down any mispronunciations, hesitations, missed words, etc. that he came across. I also took a video so he could listen to himself and see if he caught any errors himself when playing it back.

- Yes! I have been working on all of the things we practiced before. Like rhyming, sounding out words, context clues and more.
- Bennett is a student I worked with in a previous class who was struggling with reading. We focused on sounding out words, comprehension, context clues in text, etc. as well as fluency. At the end of our time together he had improved tremendously.

- HI! I'm Bennett. I'm 7 years old and enjoy playing outside, dinosaurs, and spending time with my family!
- Since I knew previously that Bennett loves dinosaurs, I found a book about a dinosaur in hopes it would help with comprehension, and keeping him interested. He did very well reading, and was able to answer most of the comprehension questions I came up with when preparing my lesson with ease.

- While Bennett read, I marked two words that he did not pronounce right. He hesitated three times, and mispronounced another word, but corrected himself quickly. I then gave him the 5 comprehension questions I came up with when making my lesson and he got 4 correct. When he listened to the recording of himself reading he caught all of his mistakes on his own.
- Once he finished reading, answering the comprehension questions, and listening to himself read again to catch his own mistakes, the task was complete! We had finished the assessment and I had the answers I was looking for.
