Today on the Texas History news show we will be covering a full report on Mier y Teran
First lets do a quick overview of what Mier y Teran did!

A general in Mexico, in 1827 Mier y Teran was sent to Texas to do a commissionand report on American influence in Texas, their general attitude towards revolution, and much more.
Go to Texas and inform us of their attitude. We don't feel like dealing with rebellion.

So he stayed in Texas for about 2 years, traveling around and gathering intel about the country.
The United States is so much better than Mexico! Texas wants to be independent like them!

Mier then went back to Mexico to inform the officials that American influence was very high in Texas. He suggested they take immediateaction to stop just influence.

The Americans are making them want to rebel. They don't really like us.

His information was used in making the law of April6th, 1830, which prohibited slavery in Texas and didn't allow Americans to travel into Texas.
