- i definitely learned new things throughout this course one being how deeply language is connected to identity and culture. Before this class, I thought of language as a way to communicate, but now I understand it carries history ,value, and social meaning. Learning about sociolinguistics and how accents and dialects can shape people's experiences really opened my eyes.

- I think the discussions on cultural relativism and avoiding ethnocentrism will help me a lot in the future, especially in my future nursing career. I’ve realized how important it is to understand and respect different cultural perspectives instead of judging them based on my own. This will be really helpful when working with patients from different backgrounds.

- Five years from now, I think I’ll still remember how culture isn’t just something you can see. But it also includes invisible things like language, beliefs, and communication styles. I’ll also remember how important it is to be aware of my own biases and to approach people with curiosity and respect instead of judgment.
