The Ioanians rebelled against the Persians and Athens sent aid to the Ioanians. So the Persians wanted revenge on Athens so king Darius made an army of 20000 to invade Greece.

The army landed at Marathon which was 25 miles away from Athens. Then once the Persians saw the Athenians the Athenians quickly realized they were outnumbered but still won the war and king Darius died.

Then Xerxes army had to go through a narrow pass at Thermopylae.Then King Leonidas and 300 of his elite soldiers are there. Then the Persians and Spartans fight for 7 days which gives the other Greeks time to prepare for the next invasion. But eventually, all of the spartans are killed.
