- The choices that Erik Fisher and Arthur Bauer made in the novel had consequences.
- "Do you want to be in a robbery with me tonight?"
- Erik and Arthur are about to begin the process of a robbery in their neighbour hood.
- "Yes."
- "What your going to do is, stay out here and keep guard. Got that?"
- Arthur is being as quiet as he can. So he does not get caught.
- "These items don't belong to me!"
- Eriks mom finds a bag that does not belong to her family along with other objects that are not theirs.
- " The items were stolen by Erik Fisher and Arthur Bauner. They have no choice but to admit it. Arthur stole items from those homes while Erik kept watching outside.”
- "My son Erick Fisher and his friend Arthur Bauner have stolen items from our neighbor's house!"
- Erik is apologizing for his wrongdoings.
