- Where is Alcatraz?
- Alcatraz prison was a federal prison from 1934 to 1963. It held some of the US most notorious criminals, including Al Capone and George Machine Gun Kelly. Although those are not the most famous criminals in Alcatraz, they were John and Clarence Anglin, also the mastermind behind it, Frank Morris.

- The most talked about inmates in the story was John Anglin, Clarence Anglin, and Frank Morris. They are the most famous because they supposedly escaped.

- Alcatraz is one of the most famous prisons that hosted some to the worlds most infamous criminals. Alcatraz is located in the San Francisco bay in San Francisco, California. ¨All these people are at pier 33 in San Francisco for one reason: to go to prison! But no just any prison. They are here to see Alcatraz, the most famous prison in American history.¨
- What I have learned
- On June 11, 1962 three inmates (John and Clarence Anglin with Frank Morris) Escaped Alcatraz prison. Frank Morris is supposed to be the brains of the plan.The plan was, over many months chip away the side of the cell with a sharpened spoon. Than crawl through the hole into a room, than shimmy up a pipe. When the were at the top they would climb out another hole that lead to the roof. Finally they would shimmy down a pipe and with a raincoat boat paddle to shore. ¨in June 1962. Frank Lee Morris, a genius and escape artist,¨
- Now Alcatraz is preserved after closing down in 1963, just a year after the escape. In the fall of 1973 it became a tourist attraction. ¨In 1972, Alcatraz became part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The next year, it opened to the public as a national park. It´s been a popular tourist spot ever since.¨
- After reading this book I learned all about Alcatraz prison and how it was so infamous. Alcatraz has housed some of the US most famous criminals including Al Capone. Also that only three people broke out of that prison. Alcatraz prison is the US most famous prison and it has a amazing background.
