- Hi Benedict III, I'm Stephen and Indeed! We do have a nice population don't we? We also have a bit of variation around here as well.
- Hey I'm Benedict III and I just wanted to stop by and say hi to such a beautiful population here.
- Hey, is it just me or are there more of you guys now? I swear like 10 days ago there just a few of you here!
- Nooo! Our forest is burning. What's going to happen to our home?!
- It's going to undergo environmental change so we're going to have to adapt to a new environment.
- Here in the famous, Peaceful Forest, there is a varied population of Painted Lady Butterflies that are living their ordinary lives
- Nooo! Benedict III! I'll miss you, new friend. Now I must use my dark colors to hide here in the grass
- After a few days wandering about in a new area, Benedict III notices that the population has over-produced.
- These bushes really are useful. There's a saying that a butterfly named Stephen was the one who helped with our survival in this same place, millions of years ago.
- They sure are! That frog will never see us if we hide in these bushes. I'm so thankful for this adaptation of my dark colors!
- After months of hot temperature in Peaceful Forest, climate change eventually set a forest fire to the home of tons of Benedict III's friends.
- We got away! You know, I've noticed our population here is a bit small.
- That's true. With lots of time, our population will grow with reproduction, and through heredity they will get our adaptation of dark colored wings!
- With the start of an environment change, many butterflies were left open. The dark butterflies used their dark colors to blend in with the dark and tall grass which they used to survive, The other bright orange butterflies were left to be eaten by the frogs .
- Over 2 million years later, in the same location were Peaceful Forest was, all that's left are bushes and hills. The only butterflies left are the dark ones who use the green bushes and dark hills to blend in to survive.
- Through heredity and time, this forest has transformed into another beautiful landscape. From a forest into some empty hills but the butteries are what give this environment life.
