Argh! When did the ship expolde?
The USS Maine exploded on it's way to Cuba's capital. Later, due to yellow journalism , Spain was blamed for the attack.
Aah! Around 9:40 p.m I think. Spain probably did it.
Yellow journalism changed the imagery of some events, including the sinking of the Maine. This made most people want to go to war with Spain and soon enough we did.

The Treaty of Paris was signed on December 10th, 1898. This treaty gave us the Philippians and Puerto Rico, while also giving Cuba its independence. However, Emilio Aguinaldo fought back to get Philippian independence but was killed in the Philippian-American War, which lasted from 1899-1902
