- Exactly. We’ve moved past the novelty of AI. Now, the focus has shifted to responsibility. It’s no longer enough for a system to be fast or accurate; it has to be explainable. If a diagnostic AI in one of those hospitals over there makes a decision, a doctor needs to know why. Trust is the currency of the future.
- I agree. And perhaps that’s where our human role stays vital. AI can process the data of a million patients or a billion city sensors, but it lacks the 'lived experience' to understand the weight of its choices. Our future competence lies in being the moral compass for the machines we create.

- You’re right. We have to adapt our own definitions. The 'present' competence for us is quickly shifting from simple knowledge retrieval to mastering the interface with these systems. We have to learn to collaborate, not compete.
- And that collaborative future is what makes me optimistic. The past was about AI serving us. The present is about us serving AI data. But the true future—the real leap in competence—is when we harmonize. We provide the philosophy, the emotion, and the purpose, and let the AI provide the computational power.
- Well said. We are not being replaced; we are being upskilled. The journey from 'if-then' to 'generative' to whatever comes next is just a reflection of our own increasing complexity. It's time to stop worrying and start building the future we want to live in.
