- A few examples of electronegativity increasing in a period would be how you go from Nitrogen (N p#7) to Oxygen (O p#8) and when you go from Silicone (Si p#14) to Sulfur (S p#16)
- Do you even know what it is? It is the tendency for an atom to attract shared electrons when forming a bond
- Another topic I want to bother you with is electronegativity
- Lucky for you I've heard of it already! It works the same as Ionization energy. It increases as you go from left to right in a period.

- When Coulombic attraction increases then atomic radius decreases and when that happens the electronegativity also increases
- For the atomic radius, when you go across a group it decreases making electronegativity higher
- And once again the reason for this is because, it has a correlation to atomic radius and Coulombic attraction

- Yes and Ionic radius is very important. It is the same as atomic, except the size varies when you add an electron (making it an Antion) or remove an electron
- Thats actually called the Effective nuclear charge and you can find it by subtracting the shielding constant by the number of protons in an atom
- Ok and lastly, there is an atomic radius but does that change if it is negative or positive. Is there such thing as Ionic radius?
- What is the actual amount of positive charge in an atom called? I read about it, but forgot the name.
