Hi, Im Amanda Jonnes.I'm going to get a snack 
I found a cupcake,I wonder what happens when I eat this cupcake 
First as you see here, the cupcake entered the mouth.This is where the salivary glands starts pumping out salivary amaylaze,and start to break down starch. As you chew, the saliva mixes and create a soft lump of food called bolus. 
The bolus travel down the oesophagus with the help of peristalsis and goes into the stomach 
The small intestine will now break down remaining starch, protein, amd fats into smaller molecules.  Bile salts will emulsifies fat into fatty acids and glycerol, remaining starch to maltose and polypepyides to peptides. Anything the body doesn't wants will go into the large intestine.
Once in the stomach, the cells in the stomach secretes hydrochloric acid and protease. The hydrochloric acid will kill bacteria while the protease will breakdown pepsin. This is also where the bolus will be breakdown into a liquid called chyme. 
Now in the colon water and other minerals will be absorbed. This leaves a soft mass called stool.
And this is th end of the journey, this is the anus where excretion will happen and unwanted waste and toxix will be release from the body.
And this is what happen during digestion.
