- Mpho, the students are panicking because of the sudden surge of flu cases… a lot of them think it’s seasonal flu, but it feels different
- This is deeply concerning. We should dig deeper immediately. The narratives will help us understand how people are experiencing and interpreting the disease.

- Officials collected quantitative data: initial case numbers, ages affected, symptom duration, The data interpretation indicated that most infected individuals are under the age of 25 aligning with literature on swine flu impact on youth. As the number of cases continue to rise, the department now has preliminary statistics.
- Our data shows that the infection is spreading through respiratory droplets, close contact in the institution seems to be the key route.
- Many students report that they share a bus and touch common surfaces. This explains the contact related transmission which they did not realize was a risk factor

- The updated qualitative insight is that: 45% of cases report close contact with infected person, 30% report touching communal surfaces before falling ill. No cases linked to eating Pork, matching the WHO guidelines.The team continues to collect more data from students and the public to include high-risk groups as well as the progression of the symptoms.

- We need to roll out a vaccination programme. There needs to be a survey sent out to the students. The ones identified to be high risk need to be identified.
