- Hello my name is Haden Edwards and I declare Tejas a separate nation from Mexico.
- Haden Edwards was an empresario and when he got to his land he noticed there were other people there so he made them pay extra for the land they already bought. The People complained to Mexico and his contract was canceled this angered him and he started a rebellion and declared Tejas a separate nation from Mexico
- Mexican leaders were concerned that more rebellions would occur in Texas so they sent General Mier y Terán. He saw that as he traveled into Texas it became less “Mexican.” For each Mexican in Texas there were 10 people from the United States. He said that these Anglos were not following Mexican laws like, instead of converting to Catholicism, as they were supposed to, the settlers continued to be Protestant. And they were buying products from the United States instead of Mexico, hurting Mexico's economy.

- Law Of April 6th, 1830Slaves are no longer allowed to be brought into Mexico to work the fields. New forts and presidios, guarded by convict-soldiers , will be established to stop illegal immigration. We will also place a tax on all goods entering Texas from the United States so colonists will have to pay more for supplies from the United States. All current empresario contracts are cancelled and new ones will be chosen.
