Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt Germany. During that time, the Nazis were gaining power, and the Nazi's hated Jews. Anne Frank ans her family were all Jews.
Since the Nazi's rose into power, the Franks moved to Amsterdam. But once Germany invaded the Netherlands, the Franks went into hiding as there was constantly Nazi Secret police looking for them.
Anne Frank recieved a notebook for her 13th birdthday. Since then she often wrote what happened to her, and this is how we know today the experience of living under the Nazi regieme firsthand.
Anne Frank and her family were eventually found in Amsterdam. Someone tipped the police off, and that person has not been identified. The Franks were taken to the Bergen-Belsen Concentration camp where they were forced to work under harsh conditions.

Anne Frank died around the time of February 1945, from typhus. A couple weeks after she passed away, the British liberated the camp and seet everyone free.
