So you have a cavity, so we'll have to get you braces
Today's topic is about Misinformation!
Misinformation -
As someone who’s an avid gym goer, misinformation is extremely common and pushed out by influencers attempting to get exposure by doing unique workouts, or saying things that may sound new and correct but are in fact false and/or unnecessary. That being said, it is one of if not the worst, than one of the worst parts of the fitness industry. So I’d love to bring some more exposure and shine light on the topic.
Why misinformation?
What is my take on Misinformation?
Personally, it’s one of my biggest pet peeves. Very view things make me more upset than seeing innocent people be misinformed.
Technique 1: Exaggeration: Cavities would never require braces. Technique 2: Irony: Even though it’s a professional Dentist, he has no clue what he is saying, meaning even people in high positions can give wrong information. Technique 3: Labeling: The patient thinking how does that even makes sense is signifying that the patient(even though he is not the professional in this situation) is more knowledgeable.
