The Lion, the Witch and the WardrobeBy: C. S. Lewis
Event 2 Plot
Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie are four siblings who have been sent to the country to escape the air raids of World War II. They stay with Professor Kirke, an eccentric but kind old man, who resides in a house filled with twists, turns, and surprises. On their first day in the country it rains, so the Pevensies decide to explore the house.
Conflict
While exploring their new home, they discover a spare room that is completely empty except for a large wardrobe. Peter, Susan, and Edmund leave the room, but Lucy stays behind to look inside the wardrobe. Surprised when the wardrobe door opens, Lucy steps inside the enormous closet to find a snowy wood at the back of it in land called Narnia.
Resolution
When Edmund does make it to Narnia, he is discovered by the White Witch, who plays on his greed and selfishness by offering him Turkish Delight. The Witch convinces;Edmund that she will make him a prince and give him power and authority. After she learns that he's a Son of Adam, she asks him to bring his siblings to Narnia to meet her because she fears a prophecy that four humans – two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve –will cause her downfall.
Eventually, all four of the Pevensie children find Narnia and find out that the White Witch has cast spell so that it is always winter in Narnia, but never Christmas. The only thing powerful enough is Aslan, an awe-inspiring and a little frightening lion, to bring back spring and peace for the animals of Narnia. The Witch and her ignorant myths fight against Aslan and other Narnians to see who would rule the magical world.
The Witch is infuriated and turns animals fighting her into stone. Edmund acts quickly and fights his way towards the Witch. He smashes his sword down on her wand. The Narnians defeat the Witch and restore peace back to Narnia. The four Pevensie children are crowned kings and queens of Narnia at Cair Paravel and later return back into the room with the wardrobe. That was only the beginning of the adventures of Narnia.
