In the beginning, the world used to be covered by water and people would live in the Sky Land. In the Sky Land, a chief and his wife, Aataentsic, lived near the Sky Tree that would feed the people of the Sky Land.
The chief becomes very ill with something that cannot be cured. However, he has a dream that the only that can cure him is the fruit at the top of the Sky Tree. So, he tells his wife to get it for him.
Aataentsic chops the tree down, but it manages to make a hole in the Sky Land and the tree falls into the hole. She informs her husband of the incident and to save him and the life on the land, she falls threw the hole to get the tree.
On Earth, Turtle was the first animal to noticeAataentsic fall out the sky, so she called all the other animals to help her.
Beaver, Mink, Otter, and Muskrat dove down to the bottom of the sea to collect piles of wet dirt and soil to place on top of Turtles back. They get so much to form an island in whichAataentsic and the tree could land safely. OnceAataentsic landed, she had noticed that the tree parts had already taken root.
The moral of the story the chiefs wife was not sure where the hole led to, to save her husband she stayed determine to get the fruit.
