I don't understand this alternative medicine fad! Isn't it just pseudoscience? I mean, none of that stuff actually works, does it?
You are right about a lot of cases, but when people refer to practicing alternative medicine, it just means that they use health practices that are different than conventional medicine. Doesn't exactly mean that there is no science behind any of it.

But isn't alternative medicine like hypnosis and essential oils?
Fair point. Although those are in fact alternative medicines and aren't backed by much research, things like chiropractic care and herbal remedies are alternative medicine. Both are backed by an abundance of research that show clear results.
People often think alternative medicine is a sketchy name, but it's really just an umbrella term for many things.

There's valuable information that might actually be useful. It could help you feel healthier and have more energy.
I don't know. If i get sick and go the alternative route, i don't want to risk my health.
You don't have to risk your health! Take traditional medicine and go to the doctor whenever you're sick. In most cases alternative medicine isn't used to avoid a doctor's visit, it's just routine practices meant to help with your body and mental health. It can be everyday things like yoga, meditation, drinking probiotics.
It's important to remember that alternative medicine shouldn't be used in place of traditional medicine, and should be used along side of it. Alternative medicine is only dangerous when it's taken to the extreme.
