- Mr. Mallard’s friend, Richard and Mrs. Mallard’s sister, Josephine are worried on how to break this news to Mrs. Mallard

- Mrs. Mallard has a heart condition and this news could trigger her emotions and can be lethal for her

- How do I tell Louise this......
- Richard was the first to find out about Brently's accident. Through a second telegram, the news was confirmed
- Gleiten: 5
- Josephine, I have bad news Brently Mallard died from a railroad accident
- What?.. How are we suppose to deliver this news to my sister....

- I have to communicate it to Louise in broken sentences and veiled hints.
- Gleiten: 7
- I heard some bad news about an important person..... they're no longer with us.....
- Oh no... who passed away
- Gleiten: 8
- Your husband Brently Mallard has passed away
- NO
- He died from a railroad accident and I just found out this morning

- Where are you going Louise?
- To my room, no one follow me..
- Louise calms down and goes to her room, without anyone following her

- My life is finally feeling like it renewed....I can finally have the freedom I've always wanted
- Louise sits in a chair facing the window. She feels an emotion and at first she fears this, and soon this sensation renders her powerless

- When she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips.
