Simon, hidden in the brush, has just watched Jack and his hunters kill and stake this pig. The pig's eyes seem to talk of the infinite cynicism of adult life. "Everything's a bad business," the eyes seem to say, and Simon accidentally blurts out...
"...You were just wrong, that's all. A little headache, something you ate, perhaps. Go back, child..."
Simon was caught off guard at himself speaking allowed. He looked up the the head as it ignored all of the indignity of its situation and grinned at him. As he spoke, it seemed to agree with him.
The pig continued, playing on Simon's doubts at the situation that had occurred. It flowed from seeming to speak with its eyes to truly speaking with him.
It pressed harder on his doubts, feeding his throbbing head. He lifted his heavy head towards the sky.
Simon saw the clouds towering above, the tress swaying, the butterflies flying away, and realized the reality of this tormenting heat. Everything appeared as if in a haze.
The flies swarmed him, engulfing him, and he recognized the pig as the Lord of The Flies. HIs gaze was held by its. The throbbing of his temple grew as his dissociation climaxed, and he passed out.
