For slaves life was extremely difficult. They were taken from the homes and forced to do lots of work for no pay. They were treated terribly. They barely ate enough to live and they constantly wore dirty clothes.
I hereby decree my power will now be limited.
Slaves didn't have the right of religious freedom. There was only one religion allowed to be practiced and that wsa christianity. If slave were to practice any other form of religion they were punished.
I think this should be a law!

Whille some slaves converted to christianity due to the force and torture of there enslavers, others faught till the end to stand up for what they believed in.

Parliament laws were passed in 1265. The people could approve or deny certain laws. It was Montforts parliment which was to discuss the release of a soldier who had been held captive since the battle of lewes.
