Yet again Jackie broke barriers by co-founding Freedom National Bank along side William R. Hudgins making one of the largest black owned businesses in the U.S. in 1964
Freedom National Bank in Harlem New York provided economic empowerment with in the colored community by providing loans and other banking services to the community.

Jackie Robinson was a pivotal figure in the fight for civil rights. He broke barriers by becoming the first modern colored player in a predominantly white sport and started one of the most successful banks at the time giving economic empowerment to the Harlem community. Jackie used his Fame to fight against racial injustice by writing newspaper clips and taking to the street marching alongside other advocates such as Martin Luther King Jr. Jackie played a huge role in fighting for voting rights helping to ratify the 24th amendment. In July of 1962 just some of Jackie Robinson's accomplishments were honored when he became the first African American to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
