- Hi! Im Gina!!
- I am vibrant, smart, funny, adorable, and I have lots of interests!
- I love to hang out with my family. I have 3 siblings; two sisters and one brother. I also love my pets!!
- I also love music and watching videos. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going to fun places like amusement parks and going horse back riding. I am fun and unique just like all my friends.
- My syndrome requires a-lot of support and accommodations
- This is my team. They work collaboratively together to help model behaviors that assist me with lots of and differentiated ways of teaching and learning . They rock!
- There are lots of things that make me special but one other thing is that I have Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome
- And I get to spend time with so many great people who love me and help me with my services so I can build strength in lots of areas which is awesome because I love people!
- Gina's story is very touching. It impacted me as I lost a baby with Spina Bifida. I related to her mom when she says she considers the "what ifs". I wish I had a chance to know my son more before he passed. I loved seeing into their life and was most impacted by the love she has for her daughter. A parent's love for a child is the strongest force known to man and as teachers we are entrusted to take care of a parents most precious piece of their heart.
- Some of those ways are: 1. sharing with parents what the school day was like for their child and keeping communication open. 2. Knowing who students are inside and out by taking the time to know their interests and gearing lessons towards incorporating their interests 3. Understanding students needs on a compassionate level 4. Spending time getting to know their educational history and what services they receive and what developments they are making so I can continue to support outside achievements inside my classroom
- Ginas mom makes it very clear that there are concerns she has a parent for what school life will be like for her daughter. By addressing those concerns, I can be the voice for students like Gina.
