Hi Vidhi! The weather is so hot these days. Even are schools have been closed early due to such hot weather.
Hi Riddhi! The reason is global warming due to carbon dioxide emission.
I can't understand. Can you please explain me?
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas. This means that it causes an effect like the glass in a greenhouse, trapping heat and warming up the inside.
But how is it related with the temperature on earth
When energy from the Sun reaches the top of our atmosphere, most of it passes through to earth's surface, where it is absorbed. Some of this energy is re-emitted heading back towards space. At this stage, it interacts with molecules of CO2 in a way that prevents some of it from escaping Earth's atmosphere. The trapped heat energy leads to increased air temperatures.
What is the use of this greenhouse effect?
This effect is very important without the CO2 that naturally exists in the atmosphere, Earth might be too cold to support human life.
This greenhouse effect has been going on our earth for a long time but then why are we suddenly feeling so hot this time?
Because of excess carbon dioxide emission by us humans. We use vehicles and run big factories on a daily basis which releases excess of carbon dioxide gas.
I didn't that carbon dioxide gas had such a big impact. Thank you for explaining me.
One reason carbon dioxide has such a big impact on global temperatures is that hotter air can hold more water vapour. Water vapour is itself a greenhouse gas, which further enhances the greenhouse effect. Your Welcome
