Silvey is 12 years old and lives on grays avenue in Auckland, New Zealand. Her family came to New Zealand from china and while Silvey and her ma weren't born in china her ba was.

One day, while silvey was working at her family shop a boy walked in. He greeted silvey and then asked if she spoke English Silvey nodded. After that, he wandered around for a while and then ended up buying preserved plumbs. His name was sunny.

After the day in the shop silvey began seeing sunny everywhere! He even started coming fishing with Silvey and Dai Gor. He wasn't that good and kept trying to talk to Silvey.
Every time she saw him he always asked the same thing. He wouldn't take no for an answer and continued to ask her out. It became tiresome for Silvey and she just wanted him to stop.
Sunny came one night to give the billy and dishes ma had lent him back. He thanked Ma and Ba for being so kind to him and his father. Apparently sunny and his father was moving to Wanganui soon. Silvey was walking sunny to the door when he turned to her and asked if when she was older did she want to marry him. Silvey said no telling him that she was too young to even think about getting married and certainly to young to promise it.
The next day sunny and his father left to live in Wanganui.
