- Johnny!
- Johnny and Ponyboy meet Cherry and Marcia at the movies. Pony and Cherry talk about the similarities of greasers and Socs. Pony thinks Darry does not love him. Socs attack Johnny and Pony in the park because they were with their girls.
- Johnny kills Bob. Pony and Johnny get help from Dally who tells them to hide out in Windrixville. When they return to the church, Johnny breaks his back and gets burned. The newspapers call them delinquents turned heroes because they saved kids in the church.
- The greasers fight the Socs in a rumble. After the rumble, Johnny dies in the hospital. Dally dies after raising his gun to the police. After Dally dies, Pony becomes very sick and faints.
