- Li, a 20-year-old immigrant from China, has just moved to Los Angeles, USA, and is already experiencing racism and anti-Asian stigma from some of the more vocally racist residents. This racism makes him feel suppressed and discriminated against by his American tormentor, John.
- A community comes together
- Help me!
- HEY! Stop attacking him and stop being so racist against Asian people!
- Li gets into a verbal argument with John, and John starts to say even more racist remarks against him, especially when John goes to his workplace, an Asian grocery store which John makes fun of and tries to discriminate against Li even further.
- Arrested in the Parking Lot
- That is why you don't discriminate and be racist against people!
- Justice is going to be served.
- I don't tolerate any kind of violence or racism.
- Li is brought behind the grocery store and is attacked by John, Li does not try to fight back for fear of enraging John even more, eventually leading him to become severely injured, and his face is badly bruised.
- Justice is Served
- I hereby sentence John to 5 years in a state prison for assault, which happened after his discrimination against the Asian community.
- Mr. Chen, the owner of the Asian grocery store where Li works, calls the police on John for racial discrimination and assault. Mr. Chen's act of resistance against racism in his community visualizes the strong connection they have for each other and how they would stand up for each other in times of need.
- John has been arrested by police officer Jerry for physical assault on Li, as he committed these horrendous acts because of his racism towards the Asian community. Mr. Chen's heroic actions in ending the scuffle and resisting the racism directed towards Li.
- John's court trial is underway, and Li, Mr. Chen, Jerry, the police officer, and Judge Jonathan are present. John is sentenced to 5 years in prison, giving him the justice he deserves and satisfying Li and Mr. Chen's demands for punishment against racism, aggravated assault and discrimination against the Asian people. Their mission has allowed for the continued resistance against racism, visualizing that the community will stand up for each other, no matter the situation, to resist threats.
