- When Ibarra came, the two spent their time reminiscing about their pasts since they were children. While Ibarra is studying and having adventures in Europe, Maria reflects on her time at Beaterio. Maria chastised Ibarra for going to study, but the young man promptly responded. He claimed he relocated to focus on more essential matters, such as education for the people's future. When the young man suddenly remembered his deceased parents, their talk was cut short.
- Chapter 16: Si Sisa
- The marriage of Maria and Linares was brought up. Because he was an advisor to Maria's marriage to Linares, Tiago agreed to marry her to him. Some speculated that Maria was simply doing it to save Ibarra's life.Mary headed upstairs. Elias and Ibarra were escaping aboard an ancient boat.
