- in a cold and wet night Mr. white and his son Herbert was playing chess When they knock on the door, Mr. White opens it and when he opened it it was Mr. Morris.
- Mr. White was very interested in the subject so I ask him what was so special about that monkey's paw, Mr. Morris explained that an old fakir put a spell on him that three different men could each have three wishes from it. Mr. Morris asked Morris for his paw to make his first wish, which was 200 pounds.
- Mr. Whithe I introduce him as a sergeant, then Sargent Morris started talking about all his adventures, ans then Morris starts talking about a Monkey Paw
