Profit

On the first day the friends experience one of the four principles of Capitalism which is Freedom of Choice. The ability to freely make choices and accept the consequences. They are able to freely make the decision of where they want to tour. This lets consumers choose between competitions.
Private Property
A lot of these buildings used to be run down and people bought them to fix them up and re-sell
During their visit the friend observe another principal Competition. Competition occurs between businesses that sell a similar products. The competition encourages better products and prices.
Capitalism
We now know how Capitalism works.
The friends experience another principle of Capitalism-profit. While planning their day at the ballfield they purchase additional merchandise and food in addition to the price of admission. Businesses are motivated to sell as much of these products as possible in order to make a profit.
That is why they are the wealthiest team in baseball.
While exploring the neighborhoods around Central Park, the friends see all of the luxury apartments with private entrances. This is the principle of Capitalism l-Private Property. This allows citizens to purchase property from one another without the government deciding the price. This allows citizens to grow their capital.
The trip to New York had the friends observe the principles of capitalism and how it had been a driver of innovation, wealth, and prosperity in everything.
