- Carla & the New Decree
- Cake shall be no more in my realm!
- Anyone who defies me, will receive a penalty of death.
- Arlene & Iris
- We should honor our brothers with this cake!
- It is against the law Arlene!
- Two brother aliens, Edward and Pat, were sitting in a diner on Planet Taeve. Things took a turn for the worst when both ordered a slice of cake but there was only one slice left. Cake was as important to the people of Taeve as the gods to the greek. A fight broke out between the brothers ending in death for both parties. Consequently, they left their sisters, Arlene and Iris, in heartbreak.
- Arlene's Punishment
- I agree with you Carla, but don't you think your being a bit too harsh. She is our friend.
- Carla, the queen of Taeve, passed a new decree that no one is to possess cake due to the brothers who died over it. It was now considered a disgrace to harbor cake. Anyone who is caught with cake will be issued a death sentence. She wholeheartedly believed in this decree even if it appeared extreme.
- Robot Spokesperson
- Maybe he has a point
- Arlene disagrees with the queen, so she defies her in the name of her dead brothers. Seeing the cake sitting on the counter, Iris tries to change Arlene's mind. They argue about how family honor is more important than the Queen’s law. Iris leaves in anger, knowing its already too late for her sister. Shortly afterward, Arlene is caught and contained by the royal guard.
- Grief
- I'm sorry i should have let you have the cake!
- Carla interrogates Arlene on why she had the cake. When Arlene admits to defying her, Carla becomes furious. Iris tries to step in saying it was her but isn't very believable. Harmon, Carla and Arlenes' friend, comes in and sides with Carla. Considering, he still cares for Arlene he tries to lessen her punishment, but it is useless.
- She needs to learn the consequences of her actions!
- With wording spreading about Arlene's capture and punishment, a robot comes to voice the concern of many. At first, Carla thinks that the robot spokesperson shouldn't have any concern with Arlene's future. However, as Carla starts to listen to him she changes her mind. With a new perspective, she heads out in hopes to fix what she has made a mess of and honor her peoples' wishes.
- The people of this planet believe that you should forgive Arlene not sentence her to death
- Nonetheless, Carla is too late as a messager appears with the horrific news. Arlene and harmon have killed themselves in desperation. Regreting her decision, she is swallowed by grief and the hatered from her people.
