The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street:Blaming others and trying to find a scapegoat can lead to negative consequences.
One major theme of The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling is that Blaming others and trying to find a scapegoat can lead to negative consequences. One example that supports this theme is in page number 81,when Steve started to get frustrated because everyone started to blame each other and argue with each other.Another example that supports this theme is when everyone thought the monster was Pete Van Horn so them trying to point out a scapegoat made Charlie scared and he shot Pete Van Horn.Last example that supports this theme is when everyone tried to find a scapegoat, like how the neighbors blamed Charlie then Charlie blamed Tommy caused everyone to go crazy when someones house lights turned on by itself then more house lights started to go of and that caused the whole neighborhood chaos. This is why I chose the theme Blaming others and trying to find a scapegoat can lead to negative consequences for my theme.
