- Reflecting and reading "From a Mom", followed up by the video presentation shifted me something in a way I was left speechless. At the beginning of the story, I could tell how vivid was the mother's fear in the story were she repeated the word "spinning"which made her birth experience overwhelming, such everything that she expected about motherhood was shifting. What stood me out the most was how the language around Gina with the terms of "syndrome" or "failure to thrive". Wishing those moments, Gina was reduced to a list of disabilities instead of her been seen as a loving child, a daughter, but more importantly a person.

- After watching the presentation of Gina's journey, then things started taking different perspective and point of views. Seeing Gina, walking, trying to walk with the support of a walker, eating using a spoon, swim, talk made me think of what actually progress actually means even though that her goals were not small, but they were earned through hard work and discipline. This showed me how frequently society defines success through speed and comparison, for Gina on the other hand reflects on resilience and awareness.

- This brings me to my next point where as a future educator I would include parents as partners to understand their own children, creating a welcoming, safe spaces where parents feel comfortable and have the confidence in sharing their experiences, include different methods to communicate such as journals or self letters ensuring that their voices are heard, invite parents to the classroom to share their knowledge and stories without judgment
