Nurzhan, his brother, gets in a fight with a boy who was bothering him named Ossie. Both boys will received a two-day suspension. Maya gets in trouble for playing with Daniel, her crush.

The climax of the story is when Nurzhan got the permission slip to the dance signed for Maya if he would be her Chaperone.
The effect of climax becomes clear. Maya's mother expresses her approval by giving her a gold bracelet to wear to the dance.
