  • The Boycott of the Tax Collector
  • No taxation, without representation!
  • The Arrival of Reinforcements.

  • The Shot Heard Around the World
  • A group of angry colonists appeared outside the house of the tax collector. Private Hugh White was the British red coat that was guarding the tax money in the customs house. The crowd grew violent and began to throw ice, snowballs, and rocks at the guard. Fearimg for his life, the redcoat called for backup.
  • The Engraving of the Massacre
  • As time went on, more and more protestors began to show up. As more protestors began to show up, more red coats began to show up. The protest became increasingly more violent. Despite the violent crowd, the redcoats were ordered not to fire upon the citizens.
  • Paul Revere and the Midnight Riders
  • Although it is not clear who shot first, many colonists were shot upon. Thie added so much fuel to the fire that was the American Revolution.

However, this engraving wasn't entirely accurate. Revere stretched the truth of the events to make the massacre seem more sinister than it was.
  • Paul Revere created an engraving of the Boston Massacre. The midnight riders were able to spread the word of the masscre quickly throughout the colonies by use of horseback.
  • After receiving word of the Boston Massacre, the colonists became extremely angry. This fueled the uprising against the British army. Revere's engraving was effective in sparking the colonists fight against the British.
