Life in winter camp was either easy, or difficult. They were often face to face with boredom. They would have physical contests, cards, stories, songs, and . But during the winter, all they could do is wait.
Mountain Men in the Fall
The spring was their best hunting season. During that time, no were in hibernation, and it was their hunting season. During the spring, they would hunt, trap, and they would make pelts.
"At the summer rendezvous, there would be laughter, songs, dancing, shouting, trading, running, jumping, singing, racing, target-shooting, yarns, frolic, with all sorts of extravagances that white men or Indians could invent.” Described James Beckworth. There were trappers, woman and , Indians, French Canadians, and Travelers.
After the summer rendezvous, the Mountain Men started hunting again. They were very cautious of the Native Americans. There were very dangerous tribes, so they would have to be careful wherever they went.
