Setting: Lily and Tom are getting married. Lily is wearing a yellow dress to represent the sun. The sky is gloomy becasue there was a nuclear war that left the sky pemanantly cloudy.
Climax
Lily and Tom are searching for sunlight as their honeymoon. Their scooter then breaks down in Molestown. They take it to the local shop and get a room in the local Inn.
Falling Action
Lily and Tom see an old lady drop her purse at a bus stop. They decide to take it to her house. It was a long walk but the old lady ended up living in a little spot of paradise. It is a cottage with sunlight and a garden. They stay for multiple days.
Resolution
Tom and Lily come back into town and are ambushed by Mr. Noakes. He is very suspicious of how tan they are and starts to question them. They lie to him and tell him that the spot paradise is elsewhere because they don't want him to take the old ladies land. Now they have to decide if they can risk going back.
Tom and Lily decide to leave Molesworth and never come back. They think that it was too risky to go back to the cottage. Atleast now they can tell their grandchildren about the sun.
They get their scooter and leave town in the opposite direction of the cottage. They leave so quickly that they leave behind Lily's yellow wedding dress.
