- Thirty years before the First events of the French and Indian War took Place, French fur traders arrived to the U.S. They were followed by English settlers who sought a treaty with the Cherokee so they could stop them from becoming friends with the French. The Cherokee understood this treaty to be an agreement, but the British saw this as an acknowledgment of their rule.

- Their was peace between the Britsh and The Native Americans for 30 years. This peace was lost during the events of the French and Indian War.
- Cherokee War
- The French and Indian War involved British, French, and Native American forces, fighting over North America. The name itself represents the major forces that the British faced during the war, however the Iroquois nation became an essential ally of the British to win the war.
- Loss of Cherokee Land
- Although the Cherokee were nice and helped the British, the British did not to help the Cherokee when the French and their Indian allies attacked. The Cherokee, upset by the British, stole their horses

- The Britsh and the Cherokee fought each other. The royal governor of South Carolina tried to control the Cherokee by stopping all trade and taking Cherokee peace representatives as hostages. The Cherokee War lasted for two years and their was a lot of deaths within the Cherokee.
- The treaty that ended the French and Indian War divided the South Carolina colony and the Cherokee territory and stole most of the Cherokee's land.
