The baby then knocks over the pile of block which leads him to cry. The baby realizes that his action (knocking over a pile of blocks), has consequences (the pile of blocks falls).
The Sensorimotor Stage (0-2 years old)- this stage is when the baby begins to realize that their actions have consequences. In this scenario the baby has built a pile of blocks and is happy.

They think that the toy elephant is food. This kind of thinking shows that the child is not yet able to think logically and is not aware of many things. This behavior reflects the Preoperational Stage, where children begin to develop language, imagination, and symbolic thinking. The child uses its imagination to better understand things.
