Daniel and David decide to go adventuring in the desert, but little do they know that they are walking in heat far too high compared to their internal body temperature!
The necessary body temperature is 37C, meaning that nerve cells in the skin and brain (receptors) are triggered when the external temperature rises, signaling Daniel and David's control center (thei brains)
Daniel and David experience the two effectors (sweat and increased blood flow) which then result in the body reaching equilibrium!
Daniel and David are getting tired of their warm vacation spot, so they travel to a colder destination. But now, the temperature is far below 0! What will happen now?
The temperature outside is far too low compared to Daniel and David's body temperature. The receptors again (nerve cells in the skin and brain) are triggered and again signal the brain.
Now Daniel and David are experiencing similar effectors, but to raise their body temperature and retain heat. Their blood vessels constrict and shivering generates heat. Way to go guys, that's homeostasis at work!
