- The year is 1944. The occupants of the Secret Annex have been in hiding for two years.
- Yes. I hear it.
- Oh, please Dussel.
- It's been three days since Miep has come to see us, and no one has come to work.
- But this is the third time! Miep is trying to send us a signal! She's trying to warn us!
- There it goes again, the telephone! Mr. Frank do you hear?
