In the land of Argos, there was a king. He longed for a son, but instead received a prophecy that his daughter would give birth to a boy that would kill him. He was so scared that he locked his daughter Danea, in a chamber so she couldn't have kids. However, Zeus had a son with her and once the king found out, he tried to drown Danea and her son Perseus. Perseus didn't know how to slay Medusa's head so he went to his half sister, Athena to ask for help.  Since she was the goddess of wisdom surly she would know how to slay Medusa's head.  She did. She told Perseus that he would need a mirorr in order for Medusa to look at her reflection and turn to stone.
