- Ulrich: (pausing, still staring) “Does it matter? Help is help.”Georg: (bitterly chuckling) “I hope they’re faster than this cold creeping into my bones.”

- Ulrich: (squinting, his brow furrowing) “Wait… something’s wrong.”Georg: (nervously) “What do you mean? What’s wrong?”

- Ulrich: (his voice dropping) “They’re not men.”Georg: (blinking in confusion) “Not men? What are you talking about?”

- Ulrich: (staring intently) “Wolves. They’re wolves.”Georg: (pausing, the realization sinking in) “Wolves. Of course. How fitting.”

- Georg: (softly, almost bitterly laughing) “We thought we owned this forest, didn’t we?”Ulrich: (grimly) “And now it reminds us that we’re nothing to it.”

- Georg: (with a weak smirk) “It’s collecting its debt, von Gradwitz.”Ulrich: (nodding) “And we’ve nothing left to bargain with.”

- (The wolves grow closer, their growls filling the cold air.)Ulrich: (hoarsely) “Georg, if this is how we die, let’s not die as enemies.”

- Ulrich: (firmly, despite his pain) “It’s meaningless, Georg. Let it end here. Let us end .”Georg: (nodding faintly) “Agreed. No more hatred.”

- (The wolves step even closer, their eyes glowing in the dim light.)Georg: (smiling faintly) “Funny, isn’t it? It took dying to see how foolish we’ve been.”Ulrich: (softly) “It’s not funny. It’s tragic.”

- (A sharp whistle cuts through the air. The wolves pause, their ears twitching.)Ulrich: (startled) “Did you hear that?”Georg: (hope flickering in his voice) “Yes! Men! They’ve found us!”

- Ulrich: (yelling weakly) “Over here! Hurry!”(The sound of crashing footsteps grows louder, torches flickering in the distance.)

- (A group of men bursts through the trees, rifles cracking as they scatter the wolves.)Rescuer: (shouting) “Hold on! We’re here! Don’t move!”

- (The men lift the fallen tree, freeing Ulrich and Georg. Both are pale but alive.)Georg: (with a faint smile) “We live, Ulrich. The forest doesn’t win today.”Ulrich: (nodding) “No, but let it witness this: the feud ends here.”
