Mystery of History

Gaius Octavian, Marcus Lepidus, and Mark Antony started the Second Triumverate in 43BC after Caesar was assassinated. Octavian was Caesar's great-nephew/adopted son. Lepidus got driven out and Octavian and Antony fought for power. They split Rome in two and Antony got the East with Egypt.
The Second Triumverate
Cleopatra ruled Egypt from the Ptolemy line. Because the Egyptians did not like her family ruling them she got help from Caesar to secure her power. She was smuggled into his room in a rolled up carpet. They fell in love and planned to rule the world together. After Caesar was assassinated, she fell in love with Mark Antony. They got married and had three children. Together they rebuilt the library of Alexandria.
Cleopatra
Herod the Great took over Judah in 37BC. He was a great and evil leader that God chose to help fulfill the prophecies of Jesus' birth. He oversaw the Roman world for Octavian and Mark Antony. He was victorious over the Hasmonians. He renovated and made Solomon's Temple spectacular so the Jews would like him. It was the only nice thing he did. The only remains of the Temple now is the Wailing Wall.
