- Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area shaped my love of nature and my interest in environmental issues from a young age. As a CA native, I’ve also seen first-hand how climate change has relentlessly escalated the severity and destruction of extreme weather events. In 2017, the summer camp of my childhood was burned to the ground in the Tubbs Fire, which at the time was the most destructive wildfire in CA history.

- I studied environmental science in college, and through my studies I became very interested in energy technology and policy. After graduating, I worked for two years at an energy technology startup that aggregates distributed energy resources in order to create cleaner, more resilient power grids across North America. I've now worked for two and a half years at a global climate non-profit that works to accelerate the net-zero transition through policy action and collaboration with businesses on climate.

- I am passionate about scaling renewable energy technologies in order to reduce our emissions and combat climate change. I am interested in this course because finance underlies the entire energy transition – without viable financing and proper capital mobilization, clean energy projects simply won’t get built.
