- In this scene the three witches are giving the news that Macbeth is going to become Thane of Cowder, and soon to become King.
- All hail Macbeth. Hail to thee, Thane of Cowder
- All hail Macbeth, Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis
- All hail, Macbeth, that you shall be king hereafter
- Banquo
- Macbeth
- Why say these great things about Macbeth and nothing about me?
- Gleiten: 2
- WitchThou shalt get kings, though thou be none.
- Hail. Not so happy yet much Happier
- Hail. Lesser than Macbeth yet greater
- Stay! For I want to know more about these Prophecies.

- The three witches are telling Banquo that he won’t be king but his sons will.
- Gleiten: 3
- Macbeth! The old Thane of Cowder has betrayed us, so now King Duncan wants to give you the title Thane of Cowder
- (Aside) Can this be good or bad? If it is good then why do I think of something so bad? I must let fate decide on its own

- Two messengers came to bring Macbeth the knews that King Duncan just called Macbeth Thane of Cowder. Now Macbeth is questioning these prophecies that the witches gave him
