- uhhh... is that supposed to be here? I thought we were supposed to have dance partners?
- Okay everyone, time to get organized for our choreographed dance! Please be patient with me while I get everyone moved where they need to be.
- Gleiten: 2
- Oh that? Yeah that's supposed to be there. That's my subjectivity. Don't worry, it won't look so big and scary in a moment. You see, I've been working on reflection and reflexivity to better understand it and incorporate it into our work. I've been reflecting on who I am, and now I need to be reflexive and apply that to what we're doing here! Right now it's dressed up like three characters in a scary robe, but pretty soon it'll be the three characters we need for this dance!
- No way! I'm not dancing with that thing! I was promised my own partner!
- Oh hey, I've heard about subjectivities! I don't recognize it looking like this though... and isn't there supposed to be more than one?
- Are you sure? I thought that you were supposed to ignore those things...
- Gleiten: 3
- Well you see, now my subjectivity has become the three character partners that were needed for this dance to work! If I ignored it, it would have lurked in the middle and really mucked up the whole dance. And if I kicked it out, man that would have been a really ominous shadow coming through. Instead, I figured out what parts of myself I was bringing to this dance through writing, talking to you all, and planning this dance and now the different parts of my subjectivity have their own part to play in the dance! I needed to use reflection to first figure out what parts they were, and then I needed to use reflexivity to figure out what there were in relation to each of you and the dance as a whole to make this dance work. As we practice this dance they might shift and change a little so don't panic, but I promise by performance time we'll be used to them, they'll be used to us, and we'll all be working towards the same goal --- a great performance!
