- One major theme on monster are due on maple street is that blaming others does not lead to success. One example that supports this theme is when the residents were on Les Goodman's porch and they were shouting at him trying to find a scapegoat instead of trying to solve the problem. This shows that the residents on maple street didn't are trying to be judge mental towards Les Goodman. Another example is when Les's car turns on and the residents start to blame his for everything in the moment . This shows that the maple street residents were more focused on finding a scapegoat and blaming each other instead of trying to solve the problem. Another example is when charlie shoots Pete Van Horn. After charlie shot him the residents were starting to argue. Then shortly after, Charlie's light randomly turns on. After this, the residents started to raise their suspicions and started to argue even more . While in this process, nobody went to check on Pete. This shows that the residents care more about arguing than trying to help. In conclusion, blaming others does not lead to success.
