- The servants of the Fairy King and Queen meet. They talk, and Puck, the king's servant, brags about his mischievous pranks.

- The weather gets worse.
- Titania and Oberon, the fairy King and Queen, argue over who gets to take in a small boy, as well as about their loyalty to one another.
- Oberon is furious!! He gives his servant an order.
- Fetch me that flower; the herb I shew'd thee once:The juice of it on sleeping eye-lids laidWill make or man or woman madly doteUpon the next live creature that it sees.
- Helena follows Demetrius into the forest, and gets rejected by him. However, she doesn't give up.
- Oberon is secretly watching
- Puck, under order by Oberon, is going to use test the juice on "that Athenian man" he had seen, to make him fall in love with the poor woman he mistreated.
- They set off.
