After falling off the rail of his yacht in an attempt to find the direction in which the sound of gun fire came from, Rainsfordswims to ship-trap island island seeking refuge.
following in the direction of the gun shots, Rainsford came across an area that appeared to have been where a hunter overpowered his prey.Relieved to see hunting boots imprinted in the ground Rainsford followed the trail.
He followed the footprints up to a massive house where he is held at gun point by a gigantic man named Ivan.It wasn´t until an over middle-aged man named General Zaroff assured that he was safe to be let into the house.
Rainsford is treated well as a guest while General Zaroff shares with him about how he has lost interest in the game of hunting but has fortunately found a solution by hunting humans and Rainsford will be his new challenge.
Using Ivan for persuasion,Rainsford is convinced to join General Zaroff in his game of hunting.For hours Rainsford is chased by Zaroff through the woods setting up traps and false trails along the way.However both his weapons and traps fail to affect Zaroff severely.
After a long while of being chased through the woods Rainsford escapes into the sea but returns to General Zaroff´s home for vengeance. He fulfills it by having Zaroff fed to his own dogs.
